The Black Spine

In this project, I collaborated with the talented Warda AlKandari, She is a Kuwaiti artist who specializes in working with ink, leather, and various other mediums, and her artistic practice revolves around the exploration of conceptual art.

Together, we embarked on a captivating journey to capture the raw essence of the human body and its profound connection to the inner self. The centerpiece of our collaboration was a mesmerizing leather black spine created by the artist, delicately adorning the subject's back.
Through the piece we explored the interplay between tactile allure and delicate vulnerability. Using the human body as a canvas, this project reveals the inherent beauty and strength that lies within our physical and emotional selves, embracing the dichotomy between toughness and tenderness. It is a visual narrative of self-expression, inviting you to delve into the depths of introspection and discover the profound relationship we share with our own skin.
